I had so much fun working with Katy and Nick. Nick was madly in love with Katy. During their “First Look” he cried the moment he turned around and saw her walking towards him. I have never seen a groom cry so hard with tears of joy. And, she looked so glamorous in her Maggie Sottero gown.
They had a beautiful church wedding. I was amazed at how personal their pastor was. He really conveyed the importance of love in a marriage. With all the planning, worry about flowers, dresses, colors, and entertainment it is easy to forget what the day is really about.
The style of the wedding was classic elegance, held in the pavilion at Champion’s Run Club. Think Frank Sinatra meets opulence. Katy chose to do all tall centerpieces with a little hint of “bling” at the base of the centerpieces from crystal votives and table number frames. They filled the space and brought grandeur to already stunning room.
It used to be a common tradition to give every guest a glass of champagne at the reception, but over the years, this treat has been replaced with guests toasting the bride and groom with their current drink. Katy and Nick chose to revive this tradition, and I was reminded at this wedding reception how much I enjoy watching trays of full, sparkling champagne flutes floating around the room. It is a beautiful presentation, always wows the guests and makes them feel special. Complete class.
