Unusually, it was the groom’s mother who first contacted me about assisting with this wedding. Every meeting I had with these two had a tremendous sense of security and love surrounding them. If it is true that strong marriage is surrounded by a strong family, then Laurenne and Joe will be able to survive anything life throws at them.
They chose a beautiful fall day in October to get married. Laurenne’s romantic contemporary style came through with the beautiful color combination of gray and orange. It was important for them to make sure the wedding didn’t feel like Halloween and that objective was met with beautiful florals and stunning gray linens.
At a wedding reception it is common for the Best Man and Maid of Honor to give toasts. Laurenne and Joe had so much love around them; literally every person in their wedding party had a toast for them. Each toast had a story about Laurenne and Joe’s love for each other, the love for their amazing daughter and their love of family. Their wedding party couldn’t say enough about what an amazing couple they were. It truly was a reception of love. And, as if to prove this: even though they got married the day Nebraska played Michigan at home… they still had over 200 guests in attendance! Any bride in Nebraska knows she runs the risk of having a smaller reception when the Huskers play at home.
