Erin, John and I share a common love: Dogs. Their beloved pet was a constant topic and companion during our Skype calls. Secretly, I requested Skype many times over a phone call so I could see “my” pup. They were glad to share him with me. Erin and John met playing bar trivia one night and their relationship grew from friendship into love. They decided to have their ceremony and reception at one of their favorite brew pubs in Troy, New York. Revolution Hall was a perfect fit for a casual couple who loved craft brews. As an ode to their first meeting, guests played bar trivia during dinner. Erin has never been a fan of cake, let alone wedding cake. One day she looked at me and said “in my dreams, I want a pizza wedding cake.” Naturally, I said well, let’s make that dream a reality. Who makes your favorite pizza? Yes, we drove 30 minutes out of town to her favorite pizza joint, to get a fresh cheese pizza for the two of them to share a slice during the traditional “cake cutting” moment. We fell even more in love with the people of Upstate New York, when the pizza shop owner insisted on not charging us for the pizza as a gift to Erin & John. Our hearts melted like mozzarella cheese (okay that was corny, but I couldn’t resist!!).
